Family Vacation

Mark during the flag retiring ceremony

We spent last week at Walt Disney World. We were blessed to receive FREE 5 day passes to all the parks through a military salute they are offering. It was Olivia's first time to Disney and although she has never seen a Disney movie and doesn't know her princesses or fairies she had a blast! She rode her first roller coaster, saw a Little Einstein's play, visited Kennedy Space Center and marched in a parade. Our last day there Mark was approached and asked to be the veteran of the day. He helped take down the flag and our family marched in a parade down main street.

It truly is the simple things in life that bring the greatest joy. One of Olivia's favorite things to do each day was jump on the beds in the hotel with her dad catching her on a pillow!

During our visit my heart ached for the families and people I met each day who are living without Christ and hope in their life. It seemed every nation, tribe and tongue was represented. Thank you Lord for letting us share your love with several people we met.

Olivia and daddy on the sled.
We only had one inch of snow in Wilkesboro.
The short trip up the mountain to Boone was worth it!

Happy Birthday Dayton Lee

Dayton Lee turned four on Valentines Day!
The children had a blast celebrating at Hickory Dickory Dock and
Olivia discovered bumper cars. She loves her cousin Dayton Lee and
they have so much fun together.

Sweet Cheeks!
Every year we look forward to celebrating Chinese New Year with
our friends who have adopted from China. This year was so much fun!
We enjoyed the delicious food, making a paper dragon and watching the girls dance while listening to beautiful Chinese music.

Happy Birthday Grandma Kohnle

Grandma Kohnle turned 92!
We had a good time celebrating Grandma Kohnle's birthday.
We made lunch and a birthday cake for her.

Christmas Blessings!

We had a wonderful Christmas...time with family and friends,
a birthday party for Jesus, a powerful message from our pastor on
"The Most Astounding Passage in the Bible", and spending time reflecting on what the birth of Jesus means in our lives.

Papa, Olivia and nana reading a book about the moon.

One of Olivia's favorite gifts was the fake fingernails nana gave her.

Olivia's big surprise was a telescope from
Uncle Matthew and Aunt Tracey.
She is fascinated with the planets, moon and outer space.

Welcome to Olivia's Spa. She enjoyed fixing
Aunt Amanda and Aunt Tracey's hair.

Olivia served Aunt Tracey breakfast in bed for her birthday.

Olivia had so much fun riding with Dayton Lee on his new 4-wheeler.
